How can I cross the river? 山泉英文課 明芳 11/3/2010
今天的劇本是「The Gingerbread Man」，而今天的角色有：Old Woman 、 The Gingerbread Man、Pig、Cow、Horse、Fox。首先由孫老師示範Old Woman的台詞:
I want to bake a gingerbread man.唸完後的情境是以動作做出揉麵、切麵、烤、烤箱叮噹、跳出GBM和跑→Old Woman接著又說：
Stop, Gingerbread Man! 而孩子們擔任Gingerbread Man的角色，其必須唸出
Run, run, as fast as you can! You can´t catch me!
I´m the Gingerbread Man.
有別於以往的表現，我發現Kevin今天可以參與其中，並順著將台詞唸出。第一句台詞，Jiajia選擇擔任Old Woman，老師帶著Jiajia和其他人一起唸Old Woman的台詞：
I want to bake a gingerbread man.
Stop, Gingerbread Man!
接著徵求The Gingerbread Man的角色，Kevin首先舉手，擔任第一位薑餅人，我發現他上台時「眼睛是發亮的」，他在學習態度上的轉變讓我頓時非常的感動及開心。其他孩子們也都熱切的想擔任The Gingerbread Man，孫老師讓Jasmine、Sophie及Ken分別擔任第二次、第三次及第四次的The Gingerbread Man，而Zoe一人分別飾演Pig、Cow、Horse。
The Gingerbread Man的主要台詞是：
Run, run, as fast as you can! You can´t catch me!
I´m the Gingerbread Man。
陸續出現的動物(Pig/Cow/Horse)其台詞是相同的為：
Stop! Stop! Little man. I would like to eat you.
孩子們各司其職的將劇中自己的台詞加以表達，當然今天Kevin的學習態度值得嘉許，大家給予拍手鼓勵，而孫老師同時也給予所有參與演出的孩子拍手來肯定他們的學習精神，包括已經完全投入的Ken。
第二幕來到河邊，The Gingerbread Man的台詞是：
Oh no! They will catch me. How can I cross the river?
針對「How can I cross the river?」該句，孫老師透過多元的方式來帶領，如：用手中的白板筆製造出不同的聲調來吸引孩子們的目光、運用過去對I（站立敬禮）、讓孩子發現句型中的i少了點並幫i點上及以中譯的方式（我怎麼過河呢？）等不同的引導，其主要是讓孩子對「How can I cross the river?」有感覺。同時，營造情境，假裝The Gingerbread Man和老師說話，一再複誦此句。
老師挑戰孩子找出單字：cross、the、river、How、can，並邀請孩子們將單字書寫在白板上，白板寫完單字後，孫老師請孩子將學習單拿出來，請孩子找出某些字共出現幾次？依序請孩子圈了river, cross，the，Ｉ，can。在圈單字的過程中，每個孩子都非常地投入其中，還會將找到的單字加以數量化，如：圈了13個「I」，圈了10個「can」或圈了9個「the」等。
劇情來到第二幕
Fox：I can help you cross the river.
GBM：You won´t eat me, will you?
Fox： Of course not, I just want to help. Climb onto my back.
GBM：Ok.
Fox：You are too heavy. I am tired. Jump onto my nose.
這時孫老師請孩子們張開嘴，當The Gingerbread Man跳到狐狸的nose時便把他吃掉了！故事劇情也就結束了。
在課程的最後，孫老師安排孩子們「練習句型」，從前面已練習過的問句「How can I cross the river?」轉為孩子們要以另一角色回應：I can help you cross the river.學習的句型是：I can help you ………老師負責問，孩子負責回答。
T: How can I cross the river?
C: I can help you cross the river.
T: How can I find this book?
C: I can help you find this book.
T: How can I open this door?
C: I can help you open this door.
T: How can I clean the house?
C: I can help you clean the house.
在這樣的互動下，鐘聲響起，孩子們下課前需挑戰此句型，老師任意挑一個問句，孩子必須正確回應，即可過關下課，看著孩子們沒有畏懼的眼神而是很自然的與老師對話著，可想而知大家開心的下課去囉！
